Mang Inasal Crew Responds Regarding Sharing of the Unli Rice Meal – It is Not Allowed
October 19, 2025A viral Facebook reel has sparked backlash online after content creator Queenie Usman was seen sharing her “unli rice” meal with a companion at a Mang Inasal branch. The video, which has since garnered over 3 million views, shows Usman handing rice to her friend, the person filming the clip, with the caption “Pinagbabawal na technique sa Mang Inasal 🤣” (“A banned technique at Mang Inasal 🤣”).
Content Creator’s Statement
In a comment under the post, Usman defended the act, claiming that she and her companion had asked permission from a staff member before filming and were told it was fine to share. She emphasized that the video was meant as lighthearted content, not a serious violation.
“FYI, nakausap po namin ang staff at aware po sila na nag-share kami ng rice,” Usman wrote, insisting that it was not done without consent.
Crew Member’s Response
However, an alleged Mang Inasal crew member responded publicly, stating that the sharing of “unli rice” is strictly prohibited under company policy.
“Bawal po talaga ang sharing ng rice sa hindi naka-unli,” the crew member wrote. “Kami pong mga crew ang mabubulwyan ng mga managers namin at pwede pang kaltasan ang sahod namin kung may nag-share.”
According to the statement, rice consumed through the “unli rice” offer is tracked per serving. If a customer shares rice with someone who did not pay for the unli option, it can be considered a violation that affects the store’s inventory count and, in some cases, the staff’s evaluation or pay.
Impact on Staff
The crew member added that workers often endure blame or salary deductions when customers exploit the policy, as management holds them accountable for excess rice consumption not properly recorded.
“Nakakahiya po sa amin lalo na kung mahuli… pero wala kaming magagawa dahil kailangan ng trabaho,” the post reads.
Public Reaction
Online comments are split. Some viewers criticized the content creator for being insensitive to store policy and the possible repercussions on crew members, while others defended the act as harmless and argued that the responsibility lies with the establishment’s enforcement.
The controversy has reignited debate on how customers should treat service workers and follow restaurant policies designed to protect both business and employees.
