PewDiePie Receives Rare Invitation to WIT Studio
January 17, 2026Felix Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie, was recently invited to WIT Studio, the renowned Japanese animation studio behind Attack on Titan (Seasons 1–3), Spy × Family, Ranking of Kings, and Vinland Saga (Season 1). The visit marked a rare crossover between one of YouTube’s biggest creators and one of anime’s most respected studios.
A Tour Through the Heart of Anime Production
PewDiePie was given a comprehensive tour of WIT Studio’s departments, including coloring, background art, and animation. Each stop offered him a behind-the-scenes look at the meticulous processes that bring anime to life.
He also participated in croquis drawing sessions—quick sketch exercises—with members of the studio. During these sessions, he received direct tips and guidance from veteran animators, an experience he described as both intimidating and inspiring. PewDiePie was even encouraged to try his hand at drawing and animating, immersing himself in the craft under the supervision of professionals.
Sitting Beside Atsuko Nozaki

One highlight of the visit was PewDiePie’s opportunity to sit beside Atsuko Nozaki, the art director of Ranking of Kings while participating in a Croquis which are drawings that are made in a few minutes after which the model changes pose. Observing and learning from Nozaki gave him a rare chance to see how one of anime’s most celebrated visual styles is crafted at the highest level.
Gifts and a Personal Tribute

WIT Studio commemorated the occasion by presenting PewDiePie with a collection of gifts, including a special illustration of him as a member of the Scout Regiment from Attack on Titan. The gesture symbolized the studio’s recognition of his dedication to art, particularly his 365-day drawing challenge that first caught their attention.
A First Step Toward Wider Outreach?
PewDiePie also became the first guest to sign WIT Studio’s wall, hinting that the studio may be planning to welcome more creators in the future. His visit suggests a possible initiative by WIT Studio to engage with global influencers and bridge the gap between professional anime production and international fan culture.
