Based on the popular young adult fantasy series by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson the titular hero, goes back to Camp Half-Blood. The trailer was unveiled at Disney‘s D23 expo. The trailer starts out with a narration from Percy himself, played by Walker Scobell.

Just like the book, he warns the viewer of being a Half-Blood. Percy is the son of Poseidon, the god of the sea and his human wife Sally Jackson. Percy will discover the world of demigods in Camp Half-Blood along with other half-bloods such as Annabeth, the daughter of the goddess Athena, and Grover, a satyr which is a mythical humanoid with hooves for feet.

Along with Scobell, Percy Jackson will also star Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth and Aryan Simhadri as Grover.

Percy Jackson has been adapted before in the big screen and Percy was played by Logan Lerman.

Author Rick Riordan has been enthusiastic about his series being adapted according to TheWrap. Riordan is also the executive producer of the Disney+ series and Disney’s plan is to tackle one book per season to give justice to the entire story.

“It’s going to be, hopefully, one season for every book, which gives us time to do justice to the entire story, as opposed to a movie where you have to make some cuts,” Riordan has told TheWrap in the D23 expo.

The first season will focus on the first book, “The Lightning Thief”. The Disney+ series will start airing around 2024.
