Red Dead Redemption to Release on Mobile, iOS, Android, PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch 2
November 28, 2025 Off By SomaRedgraveOn December 2, 2025, players on iOS, Android, Netflix Games, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 will finally get a chance to ride with gunslinger John Marston again. Red Dead Redemption will come complete with the full story, the undead‑filled Undead Nightmare expansion and all bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. With free upgrades for existing owners, save‑carryover, and modern console enhancements like 4K and 60 fps support, this remaster promises to bring one of gaming’s most iconic open‑world adventures to a whole new generation.
For those using current‑generation hardware, the upgrade brings the kind of polish that many long‑time fans have been waiting for. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, the game will run at a smooth 60 frames per second, with improved visuals, HDR support, and up to 4K resolution — delivering a crisp, modern Wild West experience.
Meanwhile, players of Nintendo Switch 2 get their own share of enhancements: performance optimizations, support for DLSS where available, HDR visuals, and even support for mouse controls; useful especially in handheld or hybrid play modes.
The most significant part of this announcement, however, is the debut of this open world experience to mobile! For the first time, Red Dead Redemption will be playable on iOS and Android. It’ll be downloadable via both app stores, and subscribers to Netflix can download it as part of their subscription.
What’s more, if you already own earlier versions of the game (on PS4, original Switch, or the backwards‑compatible Xbox release), you won’t need to buy again to access the upgraded version. Owners get a free digital upgrade, and saved progress carries over.
These updated editions were developed in collaboration with Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games. On December 2, the remaster also joins the libraries of two other subscription services: it will be added to the GTA+ Games Library and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog — meaning subscribers could start playing immediately on launch day.
