September 16, 2022- Tokyo Game Show 2022 announced that Resident Evil 4 Remake will be released for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Steam.
Tokyo Game Show 2022 announced that the new Resident Evil 4 Remake is coming out to next-gen consoles such as the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as well as Steam. However, the announcement also confirmed that RE4 Remake will also be released on the older PS4 console.
Xbox One owners however won’t be able to play the new Resident Evil. The showcase did not confirm that the RE4 remake will come out for Xbox One nor was it mentioned that a port will be coming out for the console.
The art also showed the logos for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and Steam only.
Last June of this year, Sony confirmed the rumors to be true of a Resident Evil 4 remake in the works. The game is not a remaster nor a port of the classic game but a complete remake from the ground up just like the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 as well as the 2020 remake of Resident Evil 3.
The RE4 remake will also be using Capcom’s RE Engine that was used to make Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village.
Resident Evil 4 follows a 21 year old rookie cop reporting for the Raccoon City Police Department. However, things go awry when zombies start showing up on his first day. There he meets Claire Redfield, the sister of Chris Redfield from the special unit of RPD called S.T.A.R.S. and Ada Wong, an enigmatic agent whose motives are unclear.
