Cosplay Community Calls Out Never Grow Old After Non-Consensual Bring Me Challenge
November 29, 2025Filipino content creator Never Grow Old (active on YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook) is under fire from parts of the cosplay community after a “bring-me challenge” video asked participants to bring a “sexy cosplayer” for money.
The video reportedly shows a group of young boys approaching a cosplayer dressed as Mavuika from Genshin Impact, grabbing her without consent, and attempting to bring her along. The cosplayer, clearly angered at being grabbed, refused. Despite this, the video was still uploaded to the group’s social-media accounts, which many viewers called irresponsible and exploitative.

The cosplay community widely condemned the video, with many invoking the rule “cosplay is not consent.” According to cosplayer Hani Satou, the cosplayer involved was allegedly a minor — a detail that intensified the backlash as viewers pointed out that filming minors without consent is unacceptable.
Content creator PaoLuL also weighed in, saying Never Grow Old should have chosen participants with better social awareness who would know not to touch someone without consent. He described the clip as unsafe content and criticized the group for uploading it despite how inappropriate it was, adding that the pressure to make content should never justify releasing something like that.
The vlogger Nico David echoed these concerns, noting that Never Grow Old failed to secure clear consent and appeared more focused on clip-farming for virality. He also criticized their alleged promotion of unregistered gambling, pointing out that in the comments of their now deleted video, they promoted links instead of apologizing.
The incident reignited long-standing frustration in the cosplay community, with many calling the video a clear reminder that creators must learn — and respect — the boundaries of consent.
