A Shopee customer has successfully received a full refund after falling victim to an iPhone 17 Pro Max scam, where the ordered phone shockingly turned out to be a bar of Bioderm soap. The incident, originally shared on r/ShopeePH, quickly drew attention from other users who reported experiencing similar cases.

Timeline of the Incident

  • November 23 – Item delivered; buyer immediately filed a return and refund request.
  • November 24 – First follow-up with Shopee.
  • November 25 – Second follow-up and formal report submitted to the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) through its official Facebook page.
  • November 26–27 – Continuous follow-ups made with Shopee.
  • November 28 – Shopee approved the return and refund request.
  • December 12 – Full amount was reversed to the buyer’s credit card, including the voucher used on checkout.

According to the customer, a Shopee Express rider personally visited their home in San Pedro, Laguna to gather details and request an incident report. Shopee Express is reportedly conducting an internal investigation regarding the case.

Many users have also reached out, claiming to have experienced the same scam. The buyer encourages others to immediately report similar incidents to the CICC, emphasizing the importance of complete proof and proper documentation to support the complaint.
