There have been a lot of strange novelty games coming from Japan in the past. Games such as Hatoful Boyfriend have proven that these weird premises can keep you occupied. Enter Souji Souai Love, a game releasead by the Kao Corporation, a company known for their cleaning suppleis and cosmetics! It’s a free 20-minute browser game where you manage an idol group of cleaning products called Shining4. And well, they’re not anthromorphic objects, just people with objects for heads!

The 4 idols of Shining4

Shining4 is made up of four different idols based on real life products: Kyukyutto (dish soap), Bath Magiclin (bathtub cleaner), Toilet Magiclin (toilet bowl cleaner) and Quickle Wiper Three-dimensional Wet Sheets (for cleaning floors). They’re all voiced by singers and actors such as Yoshiki Nakajima, who has also voiced for The Idolmaster: SideM and Ensemble Stars!, and Kent Itō a famous singer and music producer.

Souji Souai Love fits right into Japan’s long tradition of brands using clever, distinctive ads to get people interested in their products. The game itself is not very long, clocking around 20 minutes. You’ll spend most of it hanging out with the partially voiced idols in scenarios related to cleaning. But it is free and playable on both computers and mobile via the game’s website. And they also have a song where they promote the game and the products! Who knows, you might want to look for their products after listening!
