Lucasfilm confirms they are looking at the possibility of a Knights of the Old Republic Movie
January 6, 2020As the new Star Wars Saga concludes with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, fans are curious how Lucasfilm will move forward or shall we say backwards.
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has told MTV News of the possibility of exploring characters from the old movies. The Mandalorian which airs in Disney+ takes place 5 years after the Return of the Jedi and 25 years before the Force Awakens. There’s also a Solo movie which explores the past of the iconic character Han Solo.
Knights of the Old Republic is definitely one of the fan favorites and Lucasfilm knows this. Kathleen Kennedy has said that they have talked about Knights of the Old Republic a lot and they are “developing something to look at” so there’s still no confirmed ideas about it adding that she has “no idea where things might fall.”
They also explored on doing two movies a year but they felt that “that’s not going to work so we backed off that a little bit”.
Ian McDiarmid also returns as Palpatine in the new Star Wars movie coming out this year. Kathleen Kennedy says that Ian is very excited to go back to playing the enigmatic and sinister Darth Sidious and that he’s very “gung-ho, he was all for it”.
